Mom Asks 911 For Permission To Shoot Intruders

There’s a clear effort from the mainstream American news media to perpetuate the myth that guns never assist law abiding citizens in protecting themselves from being victims of violent crime, regardless of the overwhelming amount of contradictory evidence. So I just about spit out my Cheerios when the talking heads at ABC’s Good Morning America dedicated two minutes to a story about a recently widowed woman killing an intruder with a shotgun, while protecting herself and her newborn kid. Must have been a real slow news day.

This story went down this past January, but it just hit my radar yesterday, after the video clip was sent to me on Facebook.

Sarah McKinley, 18, was apparently home alone with her infant son just a week after her husband died of lung cancer, when two scumbags tried to break into her house.

McKinley managed to shove her couch to the front door to create a barricade, but that didn’t stop the intruders.

“He was walking from door to door trying to bust in…I don’t know what he had in his hand besides the knife. I believe he actually had a hammer in his hand at some point because he was hitting that back door with it.”

McKinley called 911 and was on the phone with the operator during the entire 21 minute ordeal. She even asked the operator if she could shoot the intruder.

“They said I couldn’t shoot him until he was inside the house,” McKinley said. “So I waited until he got in the door and then I shot him.”

Justin Shane Martin, 24, died at the scene and his alleged accomplice, 29-year-old Dustin Louis Stewart, ran away, but was later brought to police by his parents. He is currently in jail.

Justin Shane Martin: One dead dummy.

I’m gonna go way out on a limb here and make the assumption that the two assholes were looking for pain meds, left behind by the recently deceased husband. It’s Oaklahoma, I see a trailer park, and I’m just getting a strong Oxy-related vibe here.

Either way, the shooting was deemed justified and Sarah McKinley was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

Nice shot!
